What Our Logo Represents
This logo will be used for our 2019 Family Gathering.
• Colors - Blue, white and red - colors of the flag of France, the country of origin of our ancestors and colors of the flag of Acadia, our homeland.
• Blue - A stormy, raging sea. The Acadians a determined people.
• White - The purity, the rectitude of the Acadian people.
• Red - A sky filled with blood and war - The pain of the Grand Disturbance. The Red Sea, former name of the Northumberland Strait.
• Yellow Star - What distinguishes our flag, stella maris, the star of Mary, (our attachment to the Catholic religion), the star that guides the sailors.
• The tie dye of colors, a nod to our baby boomer teenage years and to an Acadian singer wearing a tie dye sweater. (Can you guess his name?)
• Robichaud - Our surname, the name of our family.
• Shediac - Where our 2019 Robichaud Homecoming will occur.
• Small boat / lobster claw - Our little boat sails on a rough sea / Shediac is the lobster capital of the world.
• Congrès mondial acadien 2019 - The event that brings us all together.
• The form of shield - A reminder of the era of seigneuries in France that our distant ancestors have known. If we all work together, we will advance our people and our family. Our values are our guarantee, our shield.
